Marian students receive science awards

Five Marian High School students received awards during the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science Regional Competition held at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, including Aaron Srinivasan, right, who was awarded the Junior Excellence Plaque for having the highest score in microbiology. Other award winners were: Barry Fulton, second place in chemistry; Patrick Darrough, first place in biology; Aiden Hinchey, first place in chemistry; Henry Hinchey, first place in chemistry. Robert Valente, Marian Catholic chemistry teacher, and Lorraine Piehota, retired Bishop Hafey science instructor, sponsored the students.
