A motor carrier enforcement detail conducted in Lehigh County led to traffic citations issued that totaled fines in excess of $10,000.

Lehigh Township Police conducted the detail along Route 946 on Thursday, at which time they conducted eight safety and weight inspections.Police issued traffic citations for five overweight vehicles, with total fines in excess of $10,000.The enforcement detail was conducted in part due to numerous complaints of aggressive driving by the commercial vehicles, as well as significant damage to roadways caused by overweight loads.
