A Carbon Countydriver was seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash about 1:38 p.m. on Tuesday along Route 93 (Hudson Drive) in Packer Township.

State police at Hazleton said Lawrence J. Medico, 57, of Weatherly, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt northbound and negotiating a left-hand curve when he entered the southbound lane. He lost control of the car which began to skid.The car struck an embankment along the southbound shoulder, then rolled over coming to rest facing southeast in the northbound lane.Weatherly Fire Company volunteers and ambulance personnel had to extricate Medico from the vehicle. Troopers said he sustained major injuries and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton Campus.
