A vehicle stop in Mahoning Township Sunday evening resulted in a driver being found driving under the influence.

State police at Lehighton stopped a 2001 Nissan Maxima operated by a 30-year-old male of Eastpointe, Michigan, in the area of Route 443 near Mall Road at 11:26 p.m.The driver was stopped for a vehicle violation, and was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance.The driver was then taken for a blood test.State police at Lehighton are investigating, and charges will be filed pending lab results.
