A Monroe County man is facing a charge of simple assault following an incident that occurred on Saturday.

State police at Fern Ridge said at 4:20 p.m. troopers responded to 1919 Route 209, Saylorsburg, for an assault incident.Troopers said Albert Carl Hummel, 55, of Saylorsburg, is accused of punching and kicking a 23-year-old female during an altercation. He was arrested and taken to the county prison in Snydersville pending arraignment.He was later arraigned and released after posting bond.
