Man to be charged in theft from his mom

A Tamaqua man will be charged in connection with the theft of his mother's jewelry.

Nathan George Fritz, 26, whose last known address was 231 Catawissa St., Tamaqua, reportedly took a silver diamond ring, valued at $2,000, and a silver bracelet, valued at $300, from his mother's home in February.The victim reported the theft to police on Feb. 11 and then arranged for her son to take a polygraph test. The victim's boyfriend told police Fritz failed the test and admitted taking the jewelry to the Time Will Tell Pawn Shop in Lehighton. He said he was driven to the shop by a Richard Boyd and was given $110 in exchange for the jewelry.Boyd was then contacted and admitted driving Fritz to Lehighton. He also provided the shop owner with his identification when Fritz said he didn't have his with him. Boyd was given $10 for gas money, then dropped Fritz off in Tamaqua.The jewelry was recovered.Fritz will be charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
