The Redball Military Transport Club's Winter Swap Meet is scheduled for Saturday at Memorial Park Hall, East 10th Street, in Jim Thorpe.

Military items such as clothing, vehicle parts, books, manuals, tools, etc., will be available at the event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.The Jim Thorpe meet is one of two major events for the club each year.A fall rally and swap meet is held in September at the West End Fairgrounds in Gilbert.Established in 1992, the club is made up of people interested in collecting, restoring, displaying and enjoying antique historic military transport equipment, vehicles and mobile weaponry transport.The club gets its name from the World War II truck supply route, the Red Ball Express, which originated in Normandy in the fall of 1944.It continually resupplied Allied troops advancing swiftly across France toward the Siegfried Line in Germany.The group also participates in parades, veterans events, historic displays, re-enactments and local civic events.
