Historical society resumes meetings

After a several-month winter break, the Palmerton Area Historical Society will resume its monthly meetings at 7 p.m. Monday in the Palmerton Library's Knight's Gallery.The subject this month will be "Show and Tell." Members and guests are requested to bring antique or unusual items for the audience to try to identify.The public is invited to attend, without cost or obligation.New window display at Heritage CenterThe Palmerton Area Heritage Center, 410 Delaware Ave., will honor the 100th anniversary of the Palmerton Concourse Club with a window display.This thriving organization, which does so much for the community, was founded in 1915.The Feature Room at the Heritage Center will continue to show antique toys.The center is open from Wednesday through Saturday each week. Call 610-824-6954 for a recording giving the times each day. Or simply try the front door. If it is unlocked, someone is in the office to show visitors around. Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted.
