State police at Fern Ridge are investigating an attempted burglary at a Monroe County residence.

Troopers said criminals attempted to gain entry to the east side of a residence in the 100 block of Charles Court Road in Brodheadsville. A side door sustained damage to the locking mechanism and wooden door frame. The incident occurred sometime between Feb. 15 and 22, troopers said.
