Two cited in Coaldale after domestic incident

Two Coaldale residents were arrested following an apparent domestic dispute. Borough police said the incident occurred on Saturday at 9:22 p.m.

Officer Joseph Krebs was dispatched to 212 W. Ridge St. for a disturbance. On scene he was met by George Washington Brimmer III, 52, of that address.Brimmer told Krebs that he had put his two children, ages 11 and 12, in his work van to keep warm, because a woman, later identified as Brimmer's girlfriend, Lizzetsh Wilson Marquez, 43, was "going crazy" inside the home.Krebs walked into the home and noticed blood on the front door. He found Marquez in the home, and said she was upset and unable to speak with him. She had visible cuts along her arms and on her hands.Krebs noted that both Brimmer and Marquez had a strong odor of alcohol on them and both had slurred speech and glassy, bloodshot eyes.Through the investigation Krebs learned the two were out drinking, celebrating Brimmer's birthday. After returning home they got into an argument that turned physical. The two fought outside and inside the home and both sustained visible injuries. The two children in the home witnessed the twofighting.Both Brimmer andMarquez were placed under arrest and taken to the police station, where they were both charged with simple assault and harassment.The two children were turned over to the custody of a relative.
