Monroe drivers facing DUI counts

Two Monroe County drivers are facing charges of driving under the influence following separate incidents. Pocono Mountain Regional police reported the arrests.

On Feb. 6 at 6:44 p.m. officers responded to a crash along Route 940 near Summit Avenue in Coolbaugh Township. On scene the driver involved in the crash was identified as Patrick A. McGinley, of Pocono Summit.He showed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests. He was placed under arrest and transported to the county DUI center for a blood test which revealed a 0.30 BAC. He was also charged with careless driving.On Feb. 21 officers responded to another crash along Route 940, near Pocono Lake, at 1:31 a.m. On scene the driver was identified as Joshua D. Spurgeon, 25, of Drums. He was found to be under the influence and in possession of marijuana. He failed field sobriety tests and was taken to the DUI center for a blood test, which he refused.In addition to the DUI charge Spurgeon was also charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and numerous motor vehicle code violations.
