Six TN players to attend annual event

Six Times News area athletes will represent their respective schools on Sunday, March 1 at the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the 55th Annual National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame banquet.

The speaker at the event, which will be held at the Northampton Community Center, will be Penn State head football coach James Franklin.Below is the list of the area scholar-athletes along with their personal bios:Jim ThorpeRyan Michael CarrollA 5-10, 175-pound wide receiver and cornerback, he ranks 31 out of 112 students. He earned all-conference first team honors, is on the school newspaper staff, and participates in varsity basketball. He is a member of the Spanish National Honor Society and the Pep Club. He is active in the community.Northern LehighNathan James FarberA 5-11, 170-pound tailback and linebacker, he ranks 22 out of 124 students. He is an honor roll student, earned first team defense all-conference honors and second team offense all-conference honors. He is the president of SADD, participates in varsity wrestling and track and field, and is a member of the class play/ musical. He is active in his community.LehightonThomas Joseph RuzickaA 5-8, 160-pound wide receiver, running back, and linebacker, he ranks 36 out of 159 students. He is an honor roll student and earned first team all-conference honors. He participates in varsity basketball and track, and is a class officer. He is a member of FBLA and SADD. He is active in his community.NorthwesternFrank Anthony DangelloA 5-8, 181-pound quarterback and defensive back, he ranks 55 out of 161 students. He is an honor roll student, National Honor Society member, and earned first team defense all-conference honors and second team offense all-conference honors. He is a member of the Science NHS, the drama club, participates in the class play/ musical, and varsity track and field. He served on the leadership council of the varsity football team, was ateam captain and is active in his community.PalmertonIsaac William GeorgeA 5-10, 155-pound outside linebacker and running back, he ranks 8 out of 149 students. He is an honor roll student and participates in varsity baseball. He is a member of the Envirothon Club, the Powerlifting Club, the Scholastic Scrimmage team, FBLA, and the Grid Iron Club, including a stint as president. His community activities include coaching in the football booster club summer camp, participating in the SOAR behavior program, Hurricane Sandy relief efforts at his Church, and the Through These Hands program.Pleasant ValleyTanner Wesley ParascandoA 6-3, 205-pound tight end and defensive end, he ranks 96 out of 492 students. He is an honor roll student and earned honorable mention all-conference honors. He participates in varsity track and field, SADD, the class play/ musical, and the community basketball league. His community activities include the Hope Project, Special Olympics, the Cubs Camp, and Relay for Life.
