McAdoo police have received the results of blood tests taken after a Jan. 6 traffic stop and filed citations against a Hazle Township man.
George Shofran, 49, was driving through the borough at 10:13 p.m. when he ran a red light at the intersection of Kennedy Drive and Grant Street. An officer monitoring traffic then conducted a traffic stop and noted a strong odor of alcohol on Shofran's breath. Several failed field sobriety tests later the driver was taken to a hospital for blood tests.The results show a 0.201 percent blood alcohol content, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08. Shofran was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and for running the red light.
