Internship opportunities at Shawnee Playhouse

The Shawnee Playhouse, a professional, nonunion repertory theater, located in Shawnee on Delaware, is accepting applications for summer internship positions.

The SPH Internship Program offers qualified candidates the opportunity to serve as interns for a season with a professional theatrical company serving as either a performance, technical, stage management or costuming intern.A weekly stipend and housing is available for successful candidates who are hired into the program.The program provides interns the opportunity to explore all aspects of theater from performance to production.It is geared toward candidates who are currently in college or have recently completed their undergraduate training, seeking to bridge the gap between the academic world and the world of professional theater and helping young artists in need of a place to build their careers.Shawnee Playhouse does not guarantee lead roles, but does promise stage time for all performance interns.Technical interns get to explore set, sound and prop design, stage management and tech crew positions.Costume interns design and build costumes, complete alterations and manage the costume shop.All interns gain experience and work with professionals from all over the country. S.T.A.R.S. Program for this coming summer, submit an application no later than March 1. Positions will remain open until candidate are hired.
