Lehighton Area School District has announced its kindergarten registration and assessment dates for 2015.

Registration will take place March 2-5 from 8-11:40 a.m. and from 1-2:40 p.m. at the district administration building, 1000 Union St., Lehighton.Assessment testing dates are May 4-7 from 8-11:35 a.m. and 1-2:45 p.m., also at the administration building.District officials ask that parents:Create an account to preregister your child online via the InfoSnap link on the district website at

www.lehighton.org. This must be done prior to coming to any appointments.Complete the online registration form and click the links to schedule a registration appointment and your child's kindergarten assessment testing.Two appointments must be scheduled: One for registration and one for assessment testing. Your child must be present for both appointments.If you are registering multiple children, you must make separate registration and assessment appointments for each child.Children who are eligible for kindergarten according to Lehighton Area School District's Policy 201 (please see website) should register.The following documents are required and must be brought to the registration appointment:•A state-issued birth certificate or other acceptable proof of age and name is required for each child. If these papers are not available at the time of registration, the child should still be registered. However, the document must be provided before the child will be admitted to school.•Parent/Guardian Photo Identification. Parents must provide driver's license or other photo ID. Guardian must provide copy of legal guardianship with educational rights. If guardian does not have legal custody, the parent must be present to sign with identification. If parent is not present, a notarized registration with parent's signature is required.•Two proofs of residence.•Proof of immunizations. State law requires that all children entering school for the first time must have written proof of immunizations: If you don't have a copy, please contact your physician for a copy. Proof of these immunizations must be provided before the child will be admitted to school.Please bring your child. Vision and hearing screenings will be given to all children during the registration appointment. Also, your child's photo will be taken for identification purposes.Residency verification is required. The purpose of this request is to assure that the educational resources of the Lehighton Area School District are properly and legally allocated. Falsification of any information or document required for residence verification or the use of the address of another person may result in revocation of student enrollment.Two current documents dated within the past six weeks are required, showing parent/guardian name and address.
