A Florida truck driver escaped injury when he crashed his rig along Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township, Schuylkill County, at 12:46 a.m. Saturday.

State police at Frackville said Gradaille D. Yaniel, 31, of Miami, was driving a 2002 Freightliner tractor northbound when he lost control after the truck hit a patch of ice. The truck overturned onto its passenger side and came to rest facing east and blocking both northbound lanes. Traffic had to be rerouted for several hours because of the crash.Troopers said Yaniel was cited for the crash.
