A Tamaqua woman has been charged in connection with the theft of a Fender Squire acoustic guitar.

The guitar's owner, Vincent Smith, reported the instrument stolen on Jan. 2. Ten days later he saw his guitar at the Tamaqua Pawn Shop on Center Street. Employees cooperated with police and provided information on the person who pawned the guitar, Terri L. Kates, 35, of 14 W. Broad St., who was paid $30 for the guitar.Smith valued the item at $85.Kates was cited for theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
