Western Pa. teen, 16, charged in shooting death of another 16-year-old

GREENSBURG, Pa. (AP) - A teenager charged in the shooting death of another teen apparently took a photo of himself with the victim and sent it to a friend, authorities said.

The 16-year-old is charged in Westmoreland County with homicide and a firearms count in the death of 16-year-old Ryan Mangan, who was found Wednesday evening in his home in Jeannette.

Police were later contacted by the mother of another boy who said he had received a photo showing another youth in the photo with the victim after he had been shot and bearing the suspect's first name across the top, authorities allege in a criminal complaint. Authorities described the photo as a selfie, taken with the suspect's face facing the camera and the victim behind, and said the victim depicted in the photo was in the same condition he was found at the crime scene.

Authorities also allege that the other youth received text messages from the suspect saying "Told you I cleaned up the shells" and "Ryan was not the last one." A search of the youth's home turned up a 9mm handgun under steps in the basement, police said. The youth is being held without bond pending a preliminary hearing.
