State police at the Lehighton barracks said a 2013 Ford Escape caught fire on Jan. 13 at 4:33 p.m. after a crash on Oak Street in Lower Towamensing Township.

Police said Raymond L. Augustine, 51, of Palmerton, was driving the vehicle westbound on Oak Street Near Forest Inn Road when the crash occurred and the vehicle caught fire.It came to rest in the westbound lane, but not before sustaining major damages to its front end.Augustine was not injured. The Aquashicola Fire Department assisted.
