Fronheiser wrestled tough in a number of pressure-packed matches last week. The freshman went 1-1 during the Colonial League Championships on Tuesday, pinning Bangor's Christopher Berber in the first round before dropping a 4-3 decision to Saucon Valley's Miller in the championship match. Fronheiser went 2-1 at the District 11 Team Championships, dropping a 9-0 major decision to Peters before claiming a 3-1 win over Miller in their semifinal rematch. Fronheiser got a forfeit in the final against Tri Valley. Kemmerer went 1-1 last week, getting a major decision over Pine Grove's Danny Howerton before dropping an 8-4 decision to Wilson's John Consorti during Thursday's opening round of the Class AA District 11 Team Tournament. Gehr won his only bout a week ago, getting a 4-0 decision over Pottsville's Ryan Green. Mader pinned Panther Valley's Justin Ogozalek in his only match a week ago.113 - 1. (13-12); Mike Lazar, Panther Valley, Sr. (7-4); Gary Goodhile, Panther Valley, So. (9-8).Notes - Rex went 3-2 a week, ago, with both losses (7-2, 6-2) coming to Saucon Valley's Jack Hill. Rex got an 8-6 decision over Bangor's Robert Shoemaker on Tuesday, before getting a 5-3 decision over Wehr on Thursday and capping his week by pinning Tri Valley's Dawson Boltz on Saturday. Wehr came up on the short end of several close matches. Including his loss to Rex, he also dropped a 7-3 decision to Williams Valley's Willy Girard. Wehr finished his week with a pin against North Schuylkill's Mason Madden-Edwards. While Gentile went up in weight, Newhall dropped, wrestling twice at 106 pounds. The freshman went 1-1, getting pinned by Halifax's Landon Bruner before pinning Upper Dauphin's Matthew Heck. Lorenzo posted a 1-1 mark last week, pinning Pine Grove's Jacob Rossi before dropping a 7-0 decision to Wilson's Jared Corriere on Thursday. The junior got a major decision against Bangor's Ed Hay in the Colonial League Tournament, which he followed with a 12-7 decision over Saucon Valley's Jason Jones. Schmall capped the week by going 3-0 in the District 11 Team Championships, getting two decisions and a forfeit. McCue was pinned by Pottsville's Nathan Cromyak in his only match last week. Scherer went 1-1 last week, coming up short by a 3-1 decision against Pine Grove's Danny Diaz-Walton, a 100-match winner. But Scherer capped his week by pinning Wilson's Luke Fleck. Webster went 2-2 last week, pinning both of his opponents. Webster jumps into third after pinning Kennedy on Saturday.138 - 1. Dylan Rynkiewicz, Tamaqua, Sr. (24-2); 2. Tegan Durishin, Lehighton, Jr. (26-5); 3. Caleb Clymer, Northwestern, Fr. Clymer was 4-0 last week, getting two wins by fall, one by major decision and one by decision. Glassic bumped up last week, wrestling two matches at 152 pounds and one at 145. The senior went 1-2 overall. Capobianco went 2-2 last week, with his two losses coming to Rynkiewicz and Clymer.145 - 1. Ryan Farber, Northern Lehigh, So. (28-4); 2. Hunter Davidyock, Panther Valley, Sr. (13-10); 3. David VanBlargan, Northwestern, Jr. (18-13).Honorable Mention - Tyler Dorn, Pleasant Valley, Jr. (10-6).Notes - Farber did about as much as you could ask for in his five matches last week, going 4-1. His only loss came in overtime to Tri Valley's Chase Schaeffer, who was a state qualifier a year ago. Farber also beat VanBlargan for the second time in less than a week when he won by major decision on Thursday. VanBlargan went 2-2 last week, winning by major decision in his first bout and in overtime against North Schuylkill's Joe Alexander. Davidyock jumps VanBlargan after earning a 6-3 decision over the Northwestern junior on Saturday. Dorn lost by major decision to Pottsville's Cole Painter in his only match last week.152 - 1. Jason Schaffer, Northern Lehigh, So. (13-13).Notes - Shubeck went 4-0 last week, pinning Palisades' Wyatt Schilling and Northwestern's Jacob Murray while also getting two forfeits. Clements went 1-1 a week ago, pinning Pine Grove's Josh Ney before dropping a 3-1 decision against Wilson's Mike Fabian. Schaffer was 2-3 last week, but the sophomore showed his resiliency by atoning for a loss to Saucon Valley's Sam Sheetz on Tuesday by pinning his counterpart in their rematch on Saturday.
