An elderly Kunkletown woman was seriously injured in a Polk Township crash on Jan. 16.
Constance Rega, 82, was driving a 2003 Subaru west on Polk Township Road at 12:42 p.m. when she lost control of the car on a slight curve, slid through gravel on the shoulder of the road, and crossed the center line into the eastbound lane.State police at Lehighton said Rega overcompensated when trying to correct her direction of travel, causing the car to turn sideways.She slid sideways across the westbound lane and hit a tree with the passenger side. Rega was trapped in the car, but was conscious and responsive. She was taken by West End Ambulance to Pocono Medical Center.
