State police at Fern Ridge reported on two crashes investigated by troopers recently on Monroe County roads.
A one-vehicle crash was reported at 6:50 p.m. Friday along Interstate 80 in Tobyhanna Township. Bryce W. Massey, 18, of Greentown, Pike County, was driving a 2001 Ford Taurus eastbound near the Blakeslee exit when he moved from the left lane to the right lane. He drove over an embankment and began to spin clockwise. The Ford struck a tree at the bottom of the embankment with the left side rear wheel and door.Massey sustained a head laceration and was taken to Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. The Ford had to be towed from the scene.Massey was cited for careless driving.A rear-end crash was reported at 10:01 a.m. Jan. 22 along Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said a 2011 Nissan Versa driven by Robyn A. Wines, 43, of Saylorsburg, rear-ended a 1996 Ford Explorer operated by Dawn M. Hughes, 45, of Brodheadsville. No one was injured.Wines was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
