A school bus was rear-ended on Thursday after it had stopped to pick up students.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the crash occurred at 9:12 a.m. along Second Mountain Road in North Manheim Township, Schuylkill County.Troopers said Lucille E. Brinich, 55, of Pine Grove, was operating a 2010 Thomas Built school board eastbound and had stopped to pick up students in the area of 168 Second Mountain Road. Megan L. Kokitus, 41, of Pottsville, driving a 2012 Honda Civic, was behind the bus and was unable to stop and struck the rear of the bus.There were 18 students on the bus but none were injured. Neither Kokitus nor Brinich were injured.The Honda sustained significant damage to its front end and had to be towed. The bus was able to continue its route. Troopers cited Kokitus for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
