Old Glory weathers through winter

An American flag flaps in strong wind in Tamaqua during Wednesday's light snowfall. The meteorological winter is better than half over and our region has so far escaped a crippling snowfall, prompting some forecasters to refer to a "snow drought." That could change early Saturday with 3 to 6 inches of snow expected over the region. Snow is expected to develop near midnight. There is a small chance the snow may briefly mix with sleet or freezing rain around daybreak Saturday. Snow is in the forecast Sunday night as well. Check tnonline.com for the latest updates.
