No oil was spilled into Nesquehoning Creek during a mishap at the Ametek plant early Friday, said Carbon County Emergency Management Coordinator Mark Nalesnik.

He said the spill was "fully confined to the water filtration system" at the plant, and was handled by the company's cleanup contractor.

Between four and 20 gallons had spilled, according to scanner reports.

The state Department of Environmental Protection was notified of the spill, but did not become involved, said spokeswoman Colleen Connelly.
