A vehicle stop by Pocono Mountain Regional police has led to drug and other charges against the driver.
Police said a vehicle operated by Maranda Jacobs, 24, of Hughesville, Lycoming County, was stopped at 12:53 a.m. on Tuesday along Route 940 at Spur Road, for a vehicle code violation.At the stop it was learned that Jacobs' license was under suspension-DUI related. A consent search was conducted of the vehicle and found were nonprescribed pills, various drug paraphernalia, and heroin in a hypodermic needle. Jacobs admitted the items were hers.She was released with charges to be filed, police said. A passenger in the vehicle, who had a valid license, was permitted to drive the vehicle from the stop.
