A Schuylkill County driver is facing charges following an incident that began in West Hazleton and led into Schuylkill County.

State police at Hazleton said West Hazleton police attempted to stop a Jeep Wrangler operated by Michael Francis Jevelle, 28, of Ringtown, at 4:25 a.m. on Sunday for a traffic violation in the area of the Subway restaurant at Broad and Fourth streets.A pursuit ensued in which state police took over the chase along Route 924. Jevelle was observed traveling at a high rate of speed westbound in the eastbound lane. The pursuit continued on 924 at a high rate of speed until troopers terminated it just north of Sheppton, for safety concerns.Troopers said Jevelle had charges filed against him for the pursuit and also has several outstanding warrants for his arrest pending.
