A Carbon County driver was involved in a two-vehicle crash in Luzerne County in which the other driver was cited.

State police at Hazleton said the crash occurred at 6:38 p.m. Jan. 11 at the intersection of Route 924 (Can-Do Expressway) and Commerce Drive, in Hazle Township.Troopers said Alan J. Hilenski, 20, of Mountain Top, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier eastbound on 924 while Thomas B. Williams, 39, of Summit Hill, was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Sonic westbound.Troopers said Williams was turning left onto Commerce Drive when Hilenski failed to stop for a red traffic signal and proceeded through the intersection striking the Sonic head-on.Both drivers sustained minor injuries. Hilenski was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton, while Williams was treated at the scene. Damages were termed heavy to the front ends of both vehicles.Hilenski was cited for traffic control signals violation.
