A power outage is expected to occur at 9 a.m. in Lehighton, but it should last for less than 15 minutes in most parts of town. One small section of the borough, the north end of First Street, could be without power for up to two hours.

The outage will be due to the borough switching electrical service to its newly constructed substation in Franklin Township.The conversion, which will require all power to be turned off, will be done weather permitting.
