A Tamaqua woman has been cited after she overdosed on heroin on Jan. 2.

Police and EMS were dispatched to 314 Lafayette St. at 9:25 a.m. for a possible overdose. When police arrived, EMS personnel were administering aid to Alyssa Bensinger, 26, of 115 Catawissa St., Tamaqua, including use of the drug Narcan.In plain view were two syringes, a spoon and six empty wax packets.Bensinger was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
