Rush-Ryan seniors

The Rush, Ryan and Delano Senior Citizens Inc. met Jan. 13 at the Ryan Township Fire Company in Barnesville with 44 members in attendance. The business session was conducted by President Eleanor Schmerfeld.Chaplain Kathleen Valentine offered the invocation "There Is Always Someone Who Cares." A moment of silence was held in memory of Eleanor Zakrewski. Two new members, Jane Neidlinger and Phil Price, were welcomed.Members reviewed the Dec. 9 Christmas party, which included a gift exchange. Thanks were extended to Shirley Becker, who provided poinsettias; Ruthann Feane for the mints she donated; and Schmerfeld, who gave everyone a handcrafted snowman.Readings were offered by Shirley Becker and Ruthann Feane.The group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at the fire company. The next meeting will be held Jan. 27. Anyone 55 or older is welcome to join.West Penn softballThe West Penn Softball League will be accepting registration for the 2015 season on Jan. 31 and Feb. 7.
