Harrisburg A Slatington youth won first place for his breed of goat at the Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg.

Andrew Bowman won for his Saanen goat named Peppermint.Saanen goats are a white or cream-colored breed of goat, named for the Saanen valley in Switzerland.They are among the most popular dairy goat breeds due to their high productivity and ease of management.The grand champion dairy goat was JDF S&Jul Dragonfly, a doe shown by Kristina Johnson of Newport, Perry County.In goat showmanship, Bowman gained a third place ribbon in Division III judging.In Division IV judging, Aidan Bowman of Slatington won the second place ribbon.
