A Coaldale woman was cited by Tamaqua Police after a shoplifting incident at the Dollar General Store, 1213 E. Broad St. on Jan. 9.

Officers were dispatched to the store at 5:12 p.m. after an employee observed a woman placing several items in her purse. When police arrived, the suspect identified herself as Mary Helen Shuck, 61, of 316 Ridge Terrace, Coaldale. Shuck's purse contained a two-pack of camouflage boxer shorts, Axe body spray, a roll of Mentos peppermints and a pack of lights. Total value was estimated at $15.05.She was cited for retail theft and banned from the store.
