State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on two crashes that occurred Wednesday on Schuylkill County roads.
A one-vehicle crash was reported at 6:08 a.m. along Bethel Road in Pine Grove Township. Troopers said Thomas L. Reimert, 19, of Mohrsville, Berks County, was driving a 1995 Ford F150 pickup northbound in the left lane, when he began driving onto the shoulder.The truck continued forward, straddling the shoulder for about 70 yards before striking a utility pole. After impact Reimert lost control with the truck going down an embankment and crashing into several trees before coming to rest.Reimert was not injured but damages were disabling to the truck. Reimert was cited for the crash.The second crash occurred at 11:40 a.m. at the intersection of Nichols and First streets in Port Carbon borough. Troopers said Joseph Buchinsky, 71, of MaryD, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck southbound on Nichols and attempted to make a left turn onto First.He lost control in the turn with the truck sliding off the road, through a front yard and colliding into a parked 1999 Ford Ranger pickup.Buchinsky and his passenger, Leonard Buchinsky, 74, also of MaryD, were not injured. Damages were termed significant to both vehicles.Buchinsky was cited for driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.
