State police at Lehighton reported on two driving under the influence arrests.

Troopers said Gerard Nieroda, no address given, was arrested for DUI and hit and run. Troopers said a hit-and-run crash occurred on Jan. 3 at 4:28 p.m. along Route 209 near Route 248 in Weissport.Troopers said an investigation led to Nieroda being charged. He refused a blood test. Charges have been filed, troopers added.On Jan. 4 at 3:53 p.m. troopers said Roger Allen McConnell Jr., 44, of Polk Township was southbound on Steckel Road, near Dotters Corner, in Polk Township, when he was stopped by another vehicle on the road.Through an investigation it was revealed that McConnell was under the influence and driving an unregistered vehicle.He was arrested and transported to the county DUI center for a blood test.
