Area residents involved in crash

Two area residents were not injured when the vehicle they were in crashed along a Schuylkill County road on Monday due to road conditions.

State police at Frackville said Dwayne A. Green, 31, of Summit Hill, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado truck westbound on Route 54 at 10:46 a.m. and climbing a grade toward Interstate 81.Green lost control of the truck on the slush-covered road, which caused the vehicle to spin clockwise 200 degrees and slide across the westbound lane. The left side tires hit a raised drainage curb adjacent to the westbound berm, pulling both tires off the wheel bed. The truck continued to slide backward, hitting the roadside embankment and knocking down a road sign.Green and passenger Christian M. Baez, 19, of Summit Hill, were wearing seat belts. The truck had to be towed from the scene.Troopers cited Green for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
