Three people were injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 10:45 p.m. Sunday along Route 93 (Hudson Drive), in Packer Township, Carbon County.
State police at Hazleton said Jessica Zehner, 27, of Freeland, was driving a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse southbound when she swerved to the right to avoid a trash can in the roadway. She lost control of the car, which went onto the right berm and struck a tree with its front passenger side. After impact the car continued south and struck a second tree with its front driver's side, spun, and came to rest in the southbound lane.Zehner and passengers Gregory A. Crostley, 44, of Lehighton, and Darrian Mobley, 7, of Freeland, were injured and taken by the Weatherly ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton. Zehner had moderate injuries while Crostley and Mobley had minor injuries, troopers said. Another passenger, Willis Zehner, no age given, was not injured.Troopers cited Zehner for driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.
