Four vehicles were involved in a rear-end crash at 3:34 p.m. Thursday in Schuylkill County. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the crash occurred along Route 901 near River Street in North Manheim Township.
Troopers said Lee F. Ruch Jr., 23, of Branchdale, was driving a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 truck westbound while Victor E. Weaver Jr., 72, of Pottsville; Wade W. Romberger, 57, of Auburn; and Shawn M. Coyle, 44, of Minersville, were all westbound but stopped and waited for a truck to make a left turn.Ruch was unable to stop and the front of his truck hit the rear of Weaver's 2006 GMC Envoy, pushing it into the rear of Romberger's 2013 Suzuki SX4, and that into the rear of Coyle's 2014 Subaru Outback.Ruch sustained a minor injury and was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street, Pottsville. No one else was injured.Troopers said the Ram and GMC sustained significant damages and had to be towed. The other two vehicles had minor damages and were driven from the scene.Troopers cited Ruch for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
