A Monroe County man will face criminal charges in county court following a preliminary hearing held Wednesday.
Michael Baruso, 34, of Tobyhanna, had charges of burglary, criminal trespass, possessing instruments of crime, theft, receiving stolen property, and criminal mischief bound for court following a hearing before District Judge Anthony D. Fluegel, of Mount Pocono.Baruso was arrested on Dec. 22, 2014 by Pocono Mountain Regional police for access device fraud and criminal attempt to commit theft following an investigation.Police said the investigation revealed that Baruso had been going into residential mail boxes in Tobyhanna looking for unopened mail. He used credit card statements from some of the mail he found and attempted to make purchases and obtain cash.While being arrested police found Baruso in possession of syringes and drug paraphernalia. Police also learned that Baruso committed a burglary at Stapleton's mini mart in Tobyhanna on Dec. 20, 2014.Following the preliminary hearing Baruso was returned to the county prison in Snydersville where he has been held since his arrest on $10,000 straight cash bail.
