A Hazle Township man has been charged with stealing a television from Walmart to support his drug habit.

Ryan Composto, 23, is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Jan. 28.The incident happened on July 12, when Mahoning Township Police were dispatched to Walmart because a man was observed fleeing the store with the television on top of a shopping cart.The man loaded the television into a waiting vehicle and left the parking lot.While police were talking with witnesses the man returned to the store and attempted to steal a second television.The man left the television behind and fled the area.The vehicle driver was stopped and questioned by police.Using the information obtained from the vehicle driver, and photographs from Facebook, officers identified the man as Ryan Composto age 23 of Hazle Township.He admitted stealing the television to support his addition to heroin.The television was valued at $633.
