Penn Forest Twp. combines tasks

Penn Forest Township followed standard protocol by holding the annual reorganization meeting the first Monday of the new year.

For the most part there were no changes to the appointments from the previous year.Warren Reiner was once again appointed chairman, and Supervisor Philip Shedaker will continue as vice chairman.Reiner will continue as roadmaster and supervisor. Scott Lignore will continue as assistant to the roadmaster.Supervisor Christine Fazio will continue as personnel manager. The only significant change in the organization of the township will be that the roadmaster will now oversee the transfer station employees as well as the maintenance laborers."It makes no sense for the same employees to have two different supervisors scheduling them," Shedaker said."Transfer station employees help out with snowplowing as well as their regular work. Making one person responsible for their schedule will help make sure that the transfer station isn't left without coverage when we have snowy weather."As a result of the change, supervisor Judy Knappenberger was the only supervisor who does not hold any position other than supervisor. The supervisors reappointed Thomas Nanovic as township solicitor. The township engineering functions will continued to be handled by Barry Isett and Associates. All codes enforcement and inspector positions will be handled by Barry Isett and Associates employees.
