Hearing scheduled for suspect in 2012 robbery from Walmart

A preliminary hearing is scheduled in February for the last suspect arrested in connection with a Walmart robbery in 2012.

Donte Shaw, 23, of Philadelphia was located and arrested on Dec. 18, 2014.A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 4.Mahoning Township Police said the incident occurred shortly after 4 a.m. Nov. 26, 2012.Two vehicles pulled into the Lehighton Walmart parking lot. Several people got out of the vehicles and went into the store. The suspects filled shopping carts with high-end electronics, which included a television, four desktop computers and two laptops. The items stolen were valued at $3,488.Two of the males fled through a front door with two of the laptops.The vehicles drove around to a side alarmed emergency exit. The suspects went out the emergency exit and loaded the stolen items into the vehicles. While leaving the store one of the males shouted, "Don't follow me, whatever you do don't follow me."Employees then heard several shots. During the follow-up investigation officers determined a paintball gun had been fired into the store. Several paintballs hit inside the store while others hit the outside wall.One of the vehicles, a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis registered in New Jersey, was spotted by Walnutport Police on Route 145. With the assistance of numerous other law enforcement agencies the vehicle was stopped and three occupants were detained. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded two stolen laptops.The three occupants were charged with one count of retail theft and one count of criminal conspiracy-retail theft. They were arraigned and bail was set at $100,000 straight each. They were taken to the Carbon County Correctional Facility.Additional information indicated the suspects charged were part of an organized retail theft ring operating in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.Charged were two men, Henry Clinton, 30, and Sabree Clinton, 30, and one female, Nyra Foster, 28. All three were from Philadelphia.
