Winter Wander hike set

As part of the statewide Get Outdoors PA program, West End Park and Open Space Commission will host a winter hike in the West End Regional Park at 578 Evergreen Hollow Road in Brodheadsville to introduce people to outdoor recreation programs and Monroe County Open Space properties.

This Winter Wander with local naturalist and Pocono Heritage Land Trust board member and stewardship chairman Don Miller is one of several Get Outdoors or "GO" Days being held throughout the state to celebrate National Winter Trails Day and highlight outdoor recreation activities.Participants will meet at the Chestnuthill Park, 221 Route 715, Brodheadsville, 1-4 p.m. Saturday, rain or shine. It is a moderate terrain, both on and off trail, appropriate for all ages and families are welcome. Hikers should be comfortable in a wild outdoor setting for several hours.WEPOSC has joined on as a Get Outdoors PA community partner to offer residents in Monroe County opportunities to experience guided outdoor recreation in safe, group settings at many county open space properties.For more events and information about Get Outdoors PA, go to
