Diabetes support

St. Luke's University Health Network will again sponsor a diabetes support group. Monthly meetings will begin in April and be held from 6 to 7 p.m. in the health network's Miners Hospital Campus in Coaldale. With the exception of the April meeting, the group will meet in the ground floor community room. The April 29 meeting will be held in the second-floor cafe.Each month, a different diabetes topic is explored. Topics are based on ways to improve blood sugar control and quality of life. Meetings include a question and answer period.Reservations are not required and there are no fees. The meeting will be held in the school library.Fifth-grade parents will meet the same day at 6 p.m.Tax exemptionsThe Schuylkill County and Tamaqua Borough per capita and occupation tax exemption forms for 2015 are now available for Tamaqua residents.The exemption forms can be obtained at the Tamaqua Municipal Building, 320 E. Broad St., Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.Forms will also be available at tax collector Pamela McCullion's office, the Tamaqua Area School District Administration building, the Tamaqua ABC High Rise, Majestic House Apartment Complex, the Tamaqua Public Library and the Tamaqua Post Office.Residents must complete the form each year to qualify for the tax exemption.Exoneration forms must be submitted by Jan. 30.
