Three are charged in thefts from Walmart

A Bloomsburg trio has been caught stealing items from a major retailer, then selling them in the Hazleton area or returning them to another store location for credit. Rush Township Police have identified the three people as Janette Aleksandrovic, 39; Kristin Lanzot, 32; and Billy J. Engel, 39.

Charges have been filed against Aleksandrovic in all of the incidents, Lanzot for three thefts and Engel for two incidents. The thefts are all linked to the HT Commons Walmart.Police were able to identify the threesome after thefts on Dec. 29. At 5 p.m. that day, Aleksandrovic stole a television valued at $358 from the Hometown store. Then, at 10 p.m., Lanzot "returned" some items to the store for credit. Police determined those items had been stolen from the Walmart in Hazle Township a short time earlier and that the two women were working together.During the investigation, police were also able to link Aleksandrovic to thefts on Aug. 24 and Oct. 6, leading to the identification of Engel in both of those incidents as well.In the August incident, Aleksandrovic stole a computer valued at $349, while Engel served as the getaway driver. Engel was the thief on Oct. 6, stealing three computers valued at $1.061.97, while Aleksandrovic was the accomplice.All three are charged with multiple counts of retail theft, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy to commit retail theft.
