Tamaqua couple cited in two domestic incidents

Tamaqua Police have cited a borough couple in separate domestic assault incidents.

On Dec. 11, officers were dispatched to 12 S. Greenwood St., at 7:06 p.m. for a domestic fight in progress. They spoke with Shannon Lynn Wilkinson, 26, and Tyrell Rucker, 24, who both admitted shoving and pushing each other. Wilkinson said the couple had been arguing, and when she tried to leave, Rucker caught her in a bear hug and refused to let go. She only pushed him in an effort to get away. When she did get free, Rucker called police to report being assaulted.Rucker claimed to have severe pain in his neck, saying that he also couldn't move or walk, demanding medical help. When the ambulance arrived, Rucker continued to complain about his inability to walk or move, despite his continued movement from place to place in the apartment. He was uncooperative with ambulance personnel, leading to police escorting the ambulance to St. Luke's Hospital-Miners Campus in Coaldale.Rucker earned a citation for harassment for his conduct.A 911 hangup call on Dec. 14 sent police to 255 Cedar St. at 5 p.m. There, they spoke with a juvenile who said he called police because Wilkinson and Rucker were fighting again and that Wilkinson struck Rucker. Officers then went to the Greenwood Street address, where they found the duo involved in a screaming match. Rucker was bleeding from the mouth and had multiple bruises on his neck and chest.Wilkinson was arrested and arraigned before duty District Judge David Plachko on charges of simple assault and harassment. She was sent to the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville, when she couldn't post 10 percent of the $5,000 bail set by the magistrate.
