A number of youth recently took part in the NFL Punt, Pass & Kick competition hosted by the Lehighton Athletic Booster Club at Baer Memorial Park. There were a total of seven categories with the winner of each one moving on to a sectional competition. First place winners at the sectional event will qualify to compete at the Eagles Compound. The Punt, Pass & Kick competition combines scores based on distance and accuracy. Winners at the local event include, from left, Lehighton's Devon Haydt (boys ages 12-13), Lehighton's Cole Serfass (boys ages 10-11), Lehighton's Vivian Horn (girls ages 12-13), Lehighton's Blake Muffley (boys ages 6-7), Parryville's Emma Sherer (girls ages 8-9), Whitehall's Lucas Souders (boys ages 14-15) and Lehighton's John Light (boys ages 8-9). Haydt is a six-time first-place winner at the local event, two-time sectional winner, and also captured a first at the state level. Sherer, meanwhile, is a two-time local champion.
