A West Hazleton man was charged with possession of a controlled substance after a heroin overdose in McAdoo.

McAdoo Police were called to 20 E. Jackson St. at 2:50 p.m. on Dec. 18 for a suspected overdose. At the scene, they found Timothy Borneisen, 24, of West Hazleton, in an impaired state. Unable to stand and incoherent, he was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton.Police searched the room and found a spoon, heroin packets and 10 Xanax pills. A hypodermic needle was found in Borneisen's pants before he was transported to the hospital.He was also charged with two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
