Each Christmas season the Ladies Auxiliary to R.W. Fritzinger, VFW Post 7215, Walnutport, holds a party complete with Santa Claus for the children of members.

President Karen Bandzi, Mick Minnich, Gail Strohl, Cindy Csaszar and Olivia Stass have $1,300 to go shopping. The money is raised from private donations and the VFW along with what is raised by the auxiliary in a raffle.The night before the party is spent with the same people having a wrapping party. Each child gets two to four packages, depending on the cost. Santa provides a candy cane.Plastic canes and a bag filled with candy are provided as the children leave Santa's lap.Some of the children arrived late because they had been on a Jim Thorpe train ride.As children happily unwrap their presents, they are treated to hot dogs, chips and pretzels.
