The Palmerton Police Department continues to investigate the following incidents:

Flight to avoidapprehensionCriminal charges were filed against James Smiley, 42, of 956 W. Edgemont Ave., Palmerton, for flight to avoid apprehension and resisting arrest. Charges were also filed against Michelle Kobal, 44, of 646 Upper Nis Hollow Drive, Lehighton, for flight to avoid apprehension and resisting arrest. The incident occurred at 9:59 a.m. on Oct. 23 in the 700 block of West Edgemont Avenue.Possession of drug paraphernaliaCriminal charges were filed against Tara Hunter, 36, of 213 Lehigh Ave., Palmerton, for possession of drug paraphernalia. Charges were also filed against Dawn Snyder, 33, same address, for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The incident occurred at 9:59 a.m. on Oct. 23 in the 700 block of West Edgemont Avenue.Criminal charges were filed against Joshua Strohl, 29, of 752 Mauch Chunk Road, Apt. 2, Palmerton, for forgery and possession of drug paraphernalia. The incident occurred at 4:03 p.m. on Nov. 5 in the 600 block of Delaware Avenue.HarassmentCriminal charges were filed against John Potter, 34, of 610 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, for simple assault and harassment. The incident occurred at 12:44 a.m. on Dec. 9 in the 600 block of Lafayette Avenue.Retail theftCriminal charges were filed against Vickie Turoscy, 57, of 158 Avenue A, Palmerton, for retail theft. The incident occurred at 1:25 p.m. on Nov. 13 in the 500 block of Delaware Avenue.Bad checksTwo citations were filed against Rhonda David, 42, of 8841 Furnace Road, Slatington, for bad checks. The violations occurred on Sept. 19 and Sept. 26 in the 200 block of Avenue B.OtherPalmerton Police also filed one citation each for speeding, traffic violation and vehicle violation.
